Over the last few weeks I've been taking inventory of my business and focusing on exactly where I want it to go and what exactly I want to do.
What I've discovered is that I am deeply passionate about design, entrepreneurship, and creating a life that fills me up each day. I am inspired by those who have full time jobs, yet still find the time to start and run successful businesses. In the early stages of my business, I have been blessed to work with some incredible self-starters, and being a part of those journeys has been an incredible experience.
Each of my clients thus far have been hard working full time employee, yet has listened to their heart and followed their passion to start a business in a field that ignites them. These incredible entrepreneurs are working hard to make things happen and create a life that fills them up each day, and that is something to be inspired by.
In taking inventory of my business, and most specifically this blog, I've come to understand that my greatest goal and my main purpose is to help other self-starters create the life they want through design work and in providing helpful resources that make launching and growing easier. I truly believe that whatever your creative quest or business goal, you have the power to make it happen. The goal of the library is to empower you with that notion, and to provide you with resources that make it easier.
As a full time corporate employee and hard working business owner, I know the struggles that come along with juggling a LOT of responsibility. In the months and even years leading up to starting my business I felt stuck, overwhelmed, and frustrated. I had so many ideas, but felt paralyzed with the thought of growing a profitable side business. This overwhelm left me frozen, unsure of what to do or how to move forward in fulfilling my vision.
It is my ultimate goal to create an empowering and resource filled community of fellow self-starters who are working hard to make big things happen. If I can help just one person take the leap into following their gut, and starting the business they have been dreaming of, then I will have served my purpose.
As a step towards that direction, and in hopes of being able to reach MORE like minded self-starters, I'm proud to launch the Broad + Main Resource Library. This free library is filled with worksheets, guides, templates, tools and resources that are all here to help you make big things happen. The Library will be a continual work in progress, with the continual addition of resources designed to help you. Below is a sneak peak at what you'll find among the resources. I hope you'll request an invitation to see what the library holds for you!
What you'll find in the resource library
I've included a few templates for social media posts, as well as some simple and clean business card templates. If you are just starting out and need a business card to customize - these are for you! While my conceptual client is a photographer, these would work for any line of business.
Guides + Worksheets
The guides and worksheets section will be ever growing. The plain is to include all of the free downloads ever given on the Broad + Main blog in one place, as well as access to a few exclusive guides and worksheets that will only be found in the library, like this desktop brand reference guide.
An extensive list of the tools and resources I use for my blog and business. This list will be ever growing as I continue to refine processes and efficiencies in running a freelance design business and blog.
There are currently 3 desktop wallpapers in the library, with plans for additional inspirational items such as prints for your office, notecards, etc.
Within the library I've included a spot for you to send me feedback, and have given you the opportunity to tell me what YOU need as a self-starter. I want to hear from you. What do you struggle with? What information or resources would make running your business easier?
